Two Full Moons in May: What They Mean & How to Work With the Energy”

May carries some extra special lunar energy this year, offering not just one but two full moons within the same month. This creates a natural rhythm of awareness, growth, and realignment — inviting us to slow down and notice what’s unfolding so we can take the steps we need to pursue what lights us up! 🌝🌝

🌸 May 1: The Flower Moon in Scorpio — Awareness & Depth

The month begins with the Flower Moon, a full moon traditionally named for the abundance of blooms this time of year. 🌸

While this moon reflects growth and fullness, its placement in Scorpio adds a deeper emotional layer — bringing awareness to the parts of our lives that may feel out of balance.

You may feel:
✨ more reflective
✨ more emotionally aware
✨ more sensitive to what feels aligned (and what doesn’t)

This moon gently asks:

What feels supportive right now… and what doesn’t?

🌗 The Days After — Softening & Letting Go

After any full moon, the energy begins to shift.

This is where we move into the waning phase of the lunar cycle. As the moon’s illumination appears smaller and smaller, we can slowly start to integrate what we’ve noticed and gently release what no longer feels necessary or aligned.

🔄 Pluto Retrograde — Reassessing Your Energy

Early in the month, Pluto also turns retrograde, which can bring a subtle shift inward.

Rather than pushing forward, this energy encourages reflection, especially around how we use our time, energy, and personal power.

Notice where your energy feels alive and appreciated, and where it may feel misaligned. These are the reflections that help us to release what isn’t working to create space for what feels right.

🌿 May 16: New Moon in Taurus — Grounding & Rebuilding

Mid-month brings a New Moon in Taurus — a chance to reset in a more grounded, supportive way.

This energy is slower, steadier, and focused on what truly makes you feel secure and fulfilled.

It’s a beautiful time to:
✨ reconnect with your body
✨ simplify your routines
✨ focus on what genuinely supports your wellbeing

Think: less rushing, more rooting.🌿

Spend some time in nature and let yourself connect to the earth, and to yourself, so you can set new intentions and take steps that feel nourishing and supportive.

🌕 May 31: The Blue Moon in Sagittarius — Expansion & Perspective

The month closes with a second full moon — often called a Blue Moon — in Sagittarius.

This moon is also a micromoon, meaning it occurs when the moon is slightly farther from Earth, offering a softer, more subtle energetic feel.

This energy feels lighter and more expansive. It’s also rare — just like you! So let it remind you to honor what makes your path uniquely yours and that it’s OK to take your time moving toward what feels aligned.

After a month of reflection and grounding, this moon invites you to:
✨ zoom out
✨ shift your perspective
✨ reconnect with possibility

What have I learned this month?
What feels aligned to move toward next?

💫 A Month of Balance

May is giving us a beautiful message to:

🌸 Notice what’s blooming
🌗 Let go of what feels heavy
🌿 Reground yourself
🌕 Move forward with clarity

You don’t need to follow every phase perfectly.

Sometimes the practice is simply:
✨ slowing down
✨ checking in
✨ and allowing yourself to move through it all at your own pace

🧘‍♀️ Bringing This Into Practice

This is the energy behind the spaces I create — whether in class, sound healing, or upcoming events — a place to pause, reset, and reconnect with yourself in a way that feels supportive and sustainable. 💫

💕 A Gentle Reminder

Growth doesn’t have to be rushed.

Sometimes it looks like blooming.
Sometimes it looks like resting.
And sometimes it looks like quietly choosing something new.

Find what works for you! 💗
