On March 3, 2026, the sky is putting on a show you won’t want to sleep through.
A rare Total Lunar Eclipse will coincide with the March full moon — traditionally known as the Worm Moon — creating what many are calling the “Worm Blood Moon.”
Astronomically, a total lunar eclipse happens when the Earth moves directly between the sun and the moon, casting a shadow that turns the moon a deep copper-red.
Energetically, this is illumination amplified.
Full moons already represent culmination, clarity, and emotional truth. An eclipse intensifies that energy, revealing what’s been quietly building beneath the surface like a spotlight.
Why It’s Called the Worm Moon
The March full moon is traditionally named the Worm Moon, a reference to the earth softening and the ground beginning to stir after winter.
There’s something poetic about that.
Beneath frozen ground, life has been waiting.
Eclipses have a similar feeling — they expose what has been hidden.
Something shifts. Something surfaces.
What Eclipse Energy Invites
Eclipses tend to energetically bring:
• heightened awareness
• truth coming into focus
• emotional clarity
• endings that feel undeniable
It can feel intense. That’s okay.
Clarity isn’t always comfortable — but it is freeing.
A Simple Worm Blood Moon Ritual
Keep this grounded and personal.
- Set up your space with intention. You can light a candle, dim the lights, and sit quietly for a moment of reflection.
- Notice what comes up for you here. Ask yourself what you’re ready to bring to light, or what you just can’t ignore anymore.
- Illuminate: Write down one truth you want to face with clarity in this moment.
- Release: What are you ready to let go of? Following the full moon, the moon will slowly start to look smaller and smaller. As the moon is waning, this is our opportunity to release.
- Invite: Write one intention you’d like to watch grow. Check in with this on the next new moon. See what’s been working for you this cycle, and what steps you can take to help build momentum.
- Seal it. Place your hands on your heart, close your eyes, and take three deep breaths creating space for what’s next.
Let what’s surfacing be enough.
Journal Prompts for Eclipse Clarity
• What truth has been circling me lately?
• Where am I being asked to grow up or let go?
• What feels complete, even if it’s bittersweet?
• If I trusted the timing of my life, what would I release?
Eclipses are a beautiful time for transformation: They illuminate the doorway, and you decide when you’re ready to walk through.
